— Nana, Credit Controller at SMT Ghana

“Hello, my name is Nana Yaa Safoa Osafo, I work in the Finance Department of SMT Ghana Limited as a credit Controller. I started my career here at SMT Ghana Limited as a National Service Personnel in 2011, in the role of treasury and cash management and now I am in credit control.

My inspiration for my job stems from my passions in dealing with customers. I enjoy interacting with customers and I get fulfilled when our customers are happy with our products and services. The main challenge with my job is chasing overdue debts from defaulting customers, I mean with such customers, a lot of negotiations have to be made in order to make headway.

SMT Ghana provides a very welcoming and friendly environment for both staff and customers. The ideas and opinions of staff members are giving a lot of attention here and there is a very cordial relationship between top management and staff. I have received a lot of training from SMT Ghana over the years, I have received a lot of training over here and the company has helped me to develop both my strengths and weaknesses.

My passion lies in my dealing with customers and making sure they are happy and satisfied with the service we render to them. For me I believe the keys to success is to be very passionate about everything you do. Self-discipline and hard work and also knowing your capabilities and trying to improve on yourself every time.

3 advice I will give to upcoming young women; Pursue your dreams or passion. Do not let failure stop you from moving forward in life Dare to be different, do not be afraid to try something now.

The SMT attitudes that make particular sense for me, Respect at the heart of our interaction! I believe respect is very important in business because it breeds customer loyalty and good will.”
