As from 2010, we rapidly grew our dealerships in Africa and are now active in more than 18 African countries. We offer the whole range of Volvo Equipment: Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Trucks, Volvo Bus and marine & industrial engines with Volvo Penta. In addition to Volvo products, we are also the official dealer of Sennebogen Green Line, Dressta, SDLG, Mack Trucks, Dongfeng, Marcopolo and Volare.
In 2015, in order to further expand the international growth, SMT acquires the Kuiken Group. In the Netherlands, that dealership dates back to 1946 when the cooperation started with Volvo CE. As a family-owned business, Kuiken had established a longstanding track record in trading and maintaining construction equipment. VCM, the brand name for the Volvo CE dealership in Belgium and Luxembourg, became part of the Kuiken Group in 1992. It had already been active in these countries since 1984. In 1993 they added the Sennebogen dealership to it.
In 2017, SMT acquires the Volvo CE dealership in Great Britain. Their experience starts in 1962 with a privately owned dealership.
In 2022, SMT enters US market for Construction Equipment with acquisition of Texas-based ROMCO Equipment Co.
In 2023, SMT continues its expansion in the US market with the acquisition of Sierra Machinery and its operation throughout West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
